Ich weiß jetzt nicht wer was  wo geändert hat, aber ich habe jetzt 3 
Installationen von Grund aus gemacht und jedes mal wurde bei der 
Installation von der middleware 127.0.1.1 vorgegeben.
Mit localhost und 127.0.0.1 funktionierte es dann auch nicht.

Aus dem Putty-Log:

Weil ich das noch nie gesehen habe in irgendeiner vzlogger.conf und lt. 
der Tabelle Meters & Protocols auf 
http://wiki.volkszaehler.org/software/controller/vzlogger
auch nicht gibt.
