Das muss ich leider auch so bestätigen:

DS18S20 mag er nicht.
mit DS18B20 scheint es zu funktionieren.
Hier ein strace mit DS18S20
Leider kann ich kein C. Ich habe aber früher mal in Perl für beide 
Sensoren Funktionen angepasst, da die Werte tatsächlich anders 
ausgelesen werden müssen.
